Files get snagged by an antivirus

After installing everything correctly, it does work for some time but Blender then crashes because my antivirus (Bitdefender) detects the add-on as malware and removes it. Once the files are restored, it is not possible to reinstall it properly. It requires safe mode to remove the files entirely and start over again.
