3.1. Improve UI/UX for each feature

Description
Many minor updates to Main page, Comparison, Certificate report, and Vulnerabilities.

Details for underlying issues and ideas for implementation:

• Main page:
  • Rename “Unified search” to “Search within a framework” [R19]
• Comparison
  • Allow adding a certificate to the comparison set not only from the opened certificate (e.g., from the search list) [R38]
• Certificate report
  • Improve visual distinction between local copies (PDF/txt) and the link to the certificate (Certificate & Certification report & Security target) [14]
  • Change the certificate selected as an example (CC-> Show example), so that it has the certificate found (compared to the current https://sec-certs.org/cc/b906b2e8d7617202/, where “certificate could not be downloaded, no link is available.”) [R15]
• Vulnerabilities
  • Add explanation for “Vulnerable configurations” [R9]
  • Allow search CPE by title [R11]

There are more usability issues for each feature (ask @MaryBak about usability study results).

New usability issues found after the initial usability testing:

• When downloading the data, the user is not aware about the considerable dataset size. The proposal is to either show the file size directly on the page next to the dataset name or give a warning "The dataset is . Are you sure you want to download?" before the download This is especially relevant for:

  • CC->Data, where the Full dataset is 10.4 GB (as of 26.03.2026).
  • FIPS -> Data, where the Full dataset is 4 GB (as of 26.03.2026).
  • Vulnerabilities -> Data, where the CVE is 1 GB (as of 26.03.2026).

• The references for PPs are shown as a list (e.g., PP page), while references for CCs and FIPS are shown as a graph. This inconsistency is confusing.
