DCO is removing trailing dots from commit author field

Not sure if this is a DCO issue or a Git issue but during the check it removes the trailing dot in the author field of my commits.

My Git config:

[user]
    email = commits@imsteven.xyz
    name = Steven I.

Example commit:

commit 24ccdc87d968571e6c55643989dae7b601e73a83
Author: Steven I. <commits@imsteven.xyz>
Date:   Mon Apr 29 22:17:52 2024 +0200
