I would strongly suggest a "Take a Break" step after it happens.
Layoffs can be stressful. If one can afford the time off, take some, even if it's just a couple days. You've probably been working for a few years, it's a good time to touch grass since your next job may have less liberal PTO. Go for a hike, or go on a short inexpensive vacation. Obviously consider your budget, since there's no paycheck coming in, and your urgency may vary for starting something new.
