NodeLocal DNSCache is the SIG-Network per-node DNS caching addon (KEP #1024). The runtime needs iptables and NET_ADMIN because it programs iptables rules to intercept queries to kube-dns/CoreDNS. The binary is built from golang:1.25.5-bookworm per the upstream Makefile; dhi/golang plus a dhi/debian-base-style runtime with iptables should be sufficient.
