Inquiry re. Integration to Short Term Rental Platform

I'm interested in finding a solution to control my thermostats in my vacation rentals. We own 6 vacation rental in the Eastern Townships. I would like the thermostats to adjust prior to a guest check-in and after a guest check-out. Our booking platform allows integrations. I'm wondering if your code can be a solution for us.

If your rentals have Hilo hardware with a way to keep a computer of some kind always on, it could work.

This is my plan to have the "passerelle" in each rental. I hired an Upwork developer to start looking at this. So far he haven't been able to make it work. He is still at the beginningof its investigation though.

You're going to need a lot more than just software integration for this to work.

I'm no dev or network admin by any stretch of the imagination but you'll likely need something similar to this setup( and I am likely to forget things):

• VPN server of some kind on an always-on computer/server that ideally is local to you
• Ideally, fixed external IP address at all your rentals, barring that, a DDNS service running on a router or computer at each rental. You likely need to purchase hardware that will allow you control over your network at each rental rather than use whatever the ISP provides.
• Hilo hardware (the bridge and thermostats at the very least)
• A way for each Hilo install in each rental to communicate back to your VPN server so that you can centralize the whole thing into a single home assistant install, so each rental would need to VPN back to that server I mentionned.
• A way to integrate your reservation site's info into homeassistant, and route the proper commands to the proper rental.

All of that is doable by someone competent, but will take quite a bit of time to integrate, setup, and get running, and is likely to need maintenance at some point in the future. That and if the whole thing's not properly running on a UPS it can be rendered useless by a simple power outage.
