The White Water Writers dashboard only includes information on the current state of the novel. It would be great if there was a set of links to 'how present tense works' and so on.

So here's what I need:

• A list of standard bits that people need help with (that's a facebook post on WWW for leaders)
• a list of resources for those bits (that's a joe facebook post)

I don't have a Facebook account, but I've recently made a list of things like this to include and update on my own site, which includes:

• writing a well rounded character
• tenses / viewpoints
• apostrophes, since they seem to be an issue for a lot of people in general
• symbolism, metaphors, similes etc.
• tropes, avoiding cliches
• diversity / representation and avoiding stereotypes
• world-building
• plot organisation, timelines etc.
• and it may not be relevant here, but a UK-US-Australian translation list

We actually seem to have a lot of books set in the US, so perhaps something on day-to-day life there... the high school system, politics and so on might help?

Worth thinking about this. There are two levels here - resources for the kids, and resources for the leaders. I've been building up the resources of the leaders with an FAQ, but that's hardly helping with the actual bits of storytelling. Hmm

Next action is to make a list.
