Is running over wayland between the objetives of this project?

I got lured here because I was exploring fltk, but going back to xorg is not really an option to me.

If I ported this software to wlroots would a patch for that be accepted?

Sure. Newer FLTK versions has support for Wayland, I just didn't explored it enough. There are couple of places where ede(lib) uses X11 stuff directly, not sure what you have on mind to replace those, but I'm open for suggestions

I do not have probably an idea of replacing stuff but ideally hide wayland under a feature flag and use macros to select one approach or the other.

Yeah, good idea. I'm still running it under X11 but would welcome Wayland patches :)

If I have to do this work I will first experiment creating an example layer shell over phoc that does similar things to ede. I will need to get a lot more fluent in the project to tackle a port like this anyway.

i have the dream of getting a phone interface based in fltk for it's use in the newish linux phone ports.
