Authentication problem?

I'm running your example but I get a 401 error when trying to connect to the spreadsheet
Is the script still working with username and password?
Should I use OAuth instead?

It's not working for me either. It looks like the spreadsheet functionality of gdata is pretty out of date... google/gdata-python-client#25

It does look like using OAuth is the solution. Feel free to submit a pull request. I'll try to fix it, but I can't get to it right away.
