ESP32 Websockets example doesn't connect to network?

When running the ESP32 websockets example,after adding SSID and Password, I get the blinking led but the serial monitorjust reports:
E (2462) wifi:Association refused temporarily, comeback time 200 mSec
The electricUI shows no devices connected.... Any ideas?
