HAL GUI opens but mouse interaction does not work in WSL2

I was able to successfully install HAL in WSL2. However, when I launch HAL using
./bin/hal -g

I receive the following startup messages:
[core] [info] executing 'hal_gui' with
[core] [info] '--gui':
Warning: QStandardPaths: wrong permissions on runtime directory /run/user/1000/, 0755 instead of 0700 (:0, )
Dropped Escape call with ulEscapeCode : 0x03007703

The GUI window opens, but mouse interaction does not work. I am unable to select or click any elements using the cursor. However, I can still navigate and activate some GUI features using the keyboard. I was even able to successfully import a netlist.
