Distributed plotting

It would be nice if we could have each engine render its part of a plot and send it back to the client for assembly. This could be hard though.

When I asked Michael Droettboom about this, he said there was no easy way to do this in matplotlib, but that someone had done something with generating images with transparency on each engine and stacking them.
