This agreement keeps the project sustainable: Sentient OS stays free and open source (AGPL-3.0) for individuals forever, while Sentient OS Labs funds development by selling commercial licenses to organizations. For that model to work, we need the rights below for every contribution. ("We/us" = Sentient OS Labs; "you" = the contributor; "contribution" = any code, documentation, or other material you intentionally submit to this project.)
By signing, you agree:

Copyright license. You grant us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free copyright license to use, reproduce, modify, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute, and sublicense your contribution — including the right to license it under terms of our choosing (such as commercial licenses), in addition to the AGPL-3.0.

Patent license. You grant us and all recipients of the project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free patent license covering any of your patent claims that are necessarily infringed by your contribution alone or in combination with the project.

You keep your rights. This is a license, not a copyright transfer — you retain full ownership of your contribution and may use it for any other purpose.

Your representations. Your contribution is your original work (or you have the right to submit it under these terms); it doesn't knowingly violate anyone else's rights; and if your employer has rights to your work, you've received permission or your employer has waived those rights.

No warranty. Your contribution is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. You're not expected to provide support.
