Age Range Identification and Automated Classification Function

Extremely important suggestion:
Create an automatic age detection option, similar to what competitors already have, as follows:
The system automatically filters the athlete's age using the birthdate contained in the spreadsheet.
Create an option to create age ranges according to the event, for example:
There are events with age ranges of 14-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years...
There are events with age ranges of 18-25 years, 26-30 years, 31-35 years...

This would be configurable in CrossFit, and after pre-configuration, the system automatically distributes athletes into the age ranges according to their age.

In addition, for results delivery, create an option for automatic exclusion of the athlete from the age range in case of overall award, that is, if the athlete crosses the finish line, they will be entitled to go up to the podium of the overall classification and will have to be excluded from their age range. Therefore, this function would remove this athlete from the age group, making way for the next athlete in line.

If anyone else feels the need for this functionality, I've developed a parallel system that automates the reorganization of athletes on their podiums. This is done through an automated reading of the base spreadsheet and the exclusion of athletes on duplicate or triplicate podiums. Using the published results Excel file, this parallel system analyzes athletes with podium conflicts and automatically excludes the categories from the data spreadsheet with a single click. Therefore, simply updating the Cross system will update the ranking correctly.

Age (or worse, date-of-birth) is considered is protected personal information, and can be difficult to get as many folks won't tell you. The age range can also be confusing depending on whether you use the birth year alone, or consider the age of the athlete on the day of the event.
You have this information, perhaps it your spreadsheet macro is the best option.

You mention "CrossFit". Is that a software system?

For "automatic exclusion" to work, the system would need to know the combined categories, and the individual categories, and that podiums in the combined categories "take precedence" over the individual categories.

For example, if I am 25-29 and I win the Overall Men, I would be excluded from the 25-29 podium.
2nd, 3rd and 4th place in 25-29 would then be promoted to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 25-29 podium.

Do I understand that correctly?

With CrossMgr "Custom Categories", you can easily combine results from all other categories, however, it does not "strip out" participants from individual categories if they podium in the combined category, and promote the next individuals
