Implementation Progress Tracker

Overview

This document tracks the implementation progress of the SmartGlass AI Agent project, with a focus on the Meta Ray-Ban + OPPO Reno 12 deployment.

Current Status: 75% Complete (Weeks 1-6 ✅ | Weeks 7-8 🟡)


Week 1-6: Completed Work ✅

Week 1: Foundation & Architecture (PR #278)

Status: ✅ Complete

  • Repository structure established
  • Core SmartGlassAgent class implemented
  • Provider abstraction layer (mock, meta, vuzix, xreal, openxr, visionos)
  • Data Access Layer (DAL) design
  • CI pipeline setup

Scenario 2: Text Query Processing ✅

Status: Passing

  • Backend API call: ✅ < 2s

Scenario 3: Audio Streaming 🟡

Status: Partially Tested (Mock Mode)

  • Microphone capture: ⏳ Pending hardware test
  • Audio streaming: ✅ Mock data working
  • Whisper transcription: ✅ Backend tested
  • UI feedback: ✅ Implemented

Last Tested: Mock mode in PR #287 Test Coverage: 60% (needs hardware)

Blockers:

  • Awaiting Meta Ray-Ban hardware access
  • OPPO Reno 12 Bluetooth pairing validation

Scenario 4: Multimodal Vision+Audio 🟡

Status: Partially Tested

  • Camera frame capture: ⏳ Pending hardware test
  • Frame upload: ✅ Mock data working
  • CLIP vision processing: ✅ Backend tested
  • Multimodal query: ✅ API tested
  • Action extraction: ✅ JSON parsing working

Last Tested: Mock mode in PR #287 Test Coverage: 55% (needs hardware)

Blockers:

  • Awaiting Meta Ray-Ban camera access
  • Frame quality validation needed
  • Latency optimization in progress

Known Issues & Fixes

Issue #1: Vision Processing Latency

Status: 🔴 Critical

  • Current: 800ms per frame
  • Target: < 500ms
  • Impact: Total latency > 5s

Planned Fix (Week 7):

  • Implement CLIP INT8 quantization
  • Enable TorchScript compilation
  • Use FP16 on GPU

ETA: Week 7 (in progress)


Issue #2: Battery Drain High

Status: 🟡 High Priority

  • Current: 12-15% per hour
  • Target: < 10% per hour
  • Impact: Limited session duration

Planned Fix (Week 7):

  • Implement adaptive frame rate
  • Reduce capture rate to 5-10 fps
  • Optimize frame compression

ETA: Week 7 (in progress)


Issue #3: Backend URL Hardcoded

Status: 🟡 High Priority

  • Issue: Backend URL hardcoded in ViewModel
  • Impact: Requires rebuild to change server
  • User Impact: Cannot test with different backends

Planned Fix (Week 7):

  • Create Config.kt with SharedPreferences
  • Add settings dialog in ConversationScreen
  • Allow runtime URL configuration

ETA: Week 7 (current task)


Issue #4: No Hardware Testing Yet

Status: 🟡 High Priority

  • Issue: All tests use mock data
  • Impact: Unknown real-world performance
  • Risk: Hidden hardware incompatibilities

Planned Fix (Week 7-8):

  • Test with actual Meta Ray-Ban glasses
  • Validate on OPPO Reno 12
  • Measure real battery consumption
  • Test Bluetooth pairing stability

ETA: Week 7-8 (pending hardware access)


Issue #5: Deprecated Documentation

Status: 🟢 Low Priority

  • Issue: Old guides reference "Alpha" status
  • Impact: User confusion
  • Scope: README.md and various docs

Planned Fix (Week 7):
