Possible to include xcode project file in git?

It has been almost 10 months, it is still not on "safari extension gallery". It seems it will take forever for apple to accept it. So I am wondering if it is possible to include xcode project data in git so that people can build it and install it using own identity like mentioned in https://github.com/guyht/vimari/blob/master/docs/safari_12.md ? thanks

Safari Extension Gallery is going away with next macOS update.

This extension has to be rewritten for new Safari version if it wants to continue to exist.
