πŸš€General Installation:

  1. Open Adobe InDesign.
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + F11 to open the Scripts panel.
  3. Right-click the User folder and choose Show in Explorer (or Finder on Mac).
  4. Open the folder called Scripts Panel.
  5. Drag & drop the script(s) into this folder.
  6. Back in InDesign, the script(s) will now appear in your Scripts panel.
  7. (Optional) Assign keyboard shortcuts for rapid use. (Choose Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Scripts)

InDesign Copy Linked File Name

This Adobe InDesign script copies the filename of the selected linked image directly to the clipboard β€” quickly, silently, and without showing alerts.

This script is super handy when you need to quickly grab image filenames β€” for example, when organizing assets in Excel, file lists, or documentation. If you plan to use it often, consider assigning it to a keyboard shortcut in InDesign for instant access.

πŸ“– Usage

  1. Select image, pdf, eps, or whatever
  2. Run the script

Recommended shortcut: CTRL + ALT + C (BUT this will overwrite 'Fit frame to content', which sucks. So maybe find a better shortcut).

InDesign Rapid Frame Filler

These scripts let you instantly resize shapes and image frames to perfectly fill your InDesign pages β€” with bleed or within margins.”

Recommended shortcuts:

Ctrl + Alt + F β†’ Margin Filler

Ctrl + Alt + D β†’ Full Bleed Filler

πŸ“– Usage

  1. Select any shape or image frame on your page.
  2. Run one of the scripts from the Scripts panel (or use your shortcut).
  3. The frame will automatically resize:
  4. Margin Filler β†’ fits neatly within your page margins.
  5. Full Filler β†’ expands to cover the entire page + bleed.
  6. If the frame contains an image, the content will scale proportionally to fill the frame.

These scripts only auto-fit images placed inside rectangular frames. Placed PDFs will not be resized automatically β€” the frame will resize, but the content will not scale.
