I worked with OpenQA 6 or 7 years ago and it was so damn hard to make it play nice for other use cases than the premade ones. I had it working with IPMI etc., but still it was tough. I kept the VMs to this day out of fear I would need them again and not have them.
your post is groundbreaking as it allows to look at a delta between a default setup as in the OpenQA docs and a very different one. That can also help i.e. smaller distros to make use of it.
