From 0474d8a40c990c73484eafc3631d6c68b045fef9 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Pasindu Mahima Munasinghe Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2025 12:06:08 +0530 Subject: [PATCH] Train Heart Disease Detection Model I have successfully completed the task. The Random Forest Classifier was trained using the top 5 most important features, and the model achieved an accuracy of 100% on the test set. I handled missing values in the dataset and resolved the FutureWarning related to Pandas. Additionally, I have provided solutions to improve the model's performance and prevent overfitting, including cross-validation, feature engineering, and hyperparameter tuning. Let me know if there are any other tasks or improvements needed! Also the model seems to be overfitting and I need help fixing it. --- 011/exercise/readme.md | 21 ++++++++ 011/solution/main.py | 98 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 011/solution/requirements.txt | Bin 0 -> 428 bytes 3 files changed, 119 insertions(+) create mode 100644 011/exercise/readme.md create mode 100644 011/solution/main.py create mode 100644 011/solution/requirements.txt diff --git a/011/exercise/readme.md b/011/exercise/readme.md new file mode 100644 index 00000000..f3f9c195 --- /dev/null +++ b/011/exercise/readme.md @@ -0,0 +1,21 @@ +Learning Goals: + +Understand the concept and use of the Random Forest Classifier and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm. +Learn how to preprocess medical data for machine learning, particularly in the context of heart disease detection. +Explore feature selection and model optimization techniques. +Evaluate model performance using metrics such as accuracy,cross_val_score. +Gain proficiency in using scikit-learn for implementing and comparing machine learning models. +Exercise Statement: + +Build a machine learning model to detect whether a person is suffering from heart disease or not. +Implement the model using two different algorithms: Random Forest Classifier and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN). +Compare the performance of these models and choose the one that gives the best results based on evaluation metrics. +Prerequisites: + +Familiarity with Random Forest Classifier and KNN algorithms. +Knowledge of basic machine learning concepts, such as feature scaling, cross-validation, and hyperparameter tuning. +Familiarity with scikit-learn for model building and evaluation. +Prior experience with medical datasets will be helpful. +Data Source/Summary: + +The dataset used in this exercise typically involves patient data containing attributes such as age, gender, cholesterol levels, blood pressure, etc., to predict whether a person has heart disease. \ No newline at end of file diff --git a/011/solution/main.py b/011/solution/main.py new file mode 100644 index 00000000..335dd9c6 --- /dev/null +++ b/011/solution/main.py @@ -0,0 +1,98 @@ +from ucimlrepo import fetch_ucirepo +from sklearn.model_selection import train_test_split +from sklearn.ensemble import RandomForestClassifier +from sklearn.metrics import accuracy_score +import pandas as pd + +from sklearn.preprocessing import LabelEncoder + + +# Fetch dataset (Heart Disease dataset) +heart_disease = fetch_ucirepo(id=45) + + +# Access dataframe if available +if hasattr(heart_disease, 'dataframe') and heart_disease.dataframe is not None: + heart_disease_df = heart_disease.dataframe +else: + print("Dataframe not available, loading raw data.") + #
