[Question]: No stop command for the CLI?

Hi,
Python is completely new for me and I just managed to pair my five roller shutter motors and I am able to open and close them. Amazing work, thank you so far!

But I didn't find an option in the duofern_cli.py script to STOP a moving motor.
The example for home assistant implies that it's possible that it should possible.
Is there something I overlooked or is it not possible via the CLI?

Hi @Boby71,

Unfortunatley you're right, stop isn't available via cli at the moment.

I was mostly using the CLI for testing, so not all commands are exposed via the CLI, mainly because the CLI is a quick-n-dirty job and every command is implemented there manually. The idea was for it to be used as command line interface, as I was assuming people trying to use it for scripting would do so via python. On the command line one rarely wants to "stop" a shutter, mostly it stops by itsself before one is done typing.

Mid-Term I'm looking into wrapping the API into MQTT and exposing all/more commands there. I guess that might be helpful for you since you likely don't want to use the stop command manually but rather plan to use some home automation with pyduofern - Most home automation has a smooth mqtt interface so that should simplify things quite a bit. If you observe #13 it will keep you up to date.

self._stick is a DuofernStick type object in that context.

Depending on what you wanna do, maybe take a look at what I hacked together, exposing the commands in a FUSE fs: https://github.com/t-animal/duofern-fusefs (I haven't written python in years, though, so don't expect a shiny library)

@t-animal Using the file system looks like a very unusual approach to interfacing with shutters, but I can see how it allows easy interfacing with all kinds of software. Plus it makes for a very nerdy (and that's a plus) way of moving shutters. Thanks for linking it!
