Feature request: power saving mode

I think it would be really nice if we could incorporate a setting that would lower recording resolution, bit rate etc. to reduce power consumption and resource usage.

This would probably need some empirical testing - I'm not sure myself if decreasing resolution would change battery consumption all that much given that most devices already use HW-accelerated video recording/encoding. Bitrate shouldn't affect battery consumption at all - most codecs perform about the same amount of work regardless of bitrate, as it basically serves as a cutoff how much information the encoder should discard.

I'm fine with merging such an issue if there would be some benchmarks provided, though! We just don't want a placebo which would just decrease quality without much tradeoff.
