v2025-11-24-1: Avnav installation fails

Hi there,

I just tried v2025-11-24-1 on raspberry pi4.

Installation of avnav (via Cockpit / Packages) fails with
"ERROR: unable to create /var/lib/avnav/"

Weirdly enough, creating that directory and changing ownership to 1000:1000 manually did not help.

(I'm an experienced linux user and currently run a radxa-zero3w as a main boat-server with avnav, signalk, home assistant. Happy to help with any testing.)

Update: Creating "/data", owned by 1000:1000 fixes that error.
It seeme "${CONTAINER_DATA_ROOT}" is not set (i thought it would be in the home directory of user 1000).

Sorry, picked this up only now!

I have still been working heavily on, well, pretty much every aspect of Halos. Volume mounts were created with incorrect permissions for pretty much all container apps. I've implemented a fix this morning but it's so far just in the unstable repos.

So far implemented:

• Cockpit-APT module
• Cockpit container store
• WiFi support in Cockpit Network Manager
• Infrastructure to build and deploy Debian packages based on docker-compose files and metadata
• Metapackages for installing Halos on top of vanilla Raspberry Pi OS

At the moment I'm working on Homarr integration to have a decent auto-populating dashboard for accessing different container apps. Other items on the wishlist are Traefik reverse proxy integration to have the container packages accessible via a single SSL key (self-signed or letsencrypt), and finally a single-sign on scheme for both the Linux user accounts and the container apps. I don't know whether the last item is technically viable or not, though.
