Delegated resources as voting power

I'm wondering was is the reasoning to use resources delegated as the voting power? This could lead to CPU lending platforms selling voting power.

Would that matter much? That would lead to unstaking within 24 hours and with checkvotes, unstaked votes will be removed.

@hiveben the votes could still be artificially pumped for a project to look like it’s getting traction. Even if it’s for one day.
