Velox is still the fastest, but compatibility issues make it difficult to share

Hi all,

I have tried switching to both exactextractr and terra for zonal statistics over very large amounts of polygons, but they both end up being much slower than velox for my applications. I continue to get by using velox, but it becomes an issue when sharing pipelines with collaborators who don't have as much flexibility.

Any solutions for compatibility issues, other than switching over to other libraries?
