From 5ac5a00f367a5342fd385fefd76093c6abb96f90 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Thor Whalen <1906276+thorwhalen@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Wed, 13 May 2026 18:47:31 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] ci(release): drop the head_commit.message guard that broke workflow parsing MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit GitHub Actions rejected the workflow file at L36 ("Invalid workflow file") because the if-expression `github.event.head_commit.message != 'chore(release): bump versions'` confused the YAML parser — the single-quoted string contains a colon that ran afoul of GH Actions' expression parsing. The guard wasn't load-bearing anyway: changesets/action is idempotent. With no pending changesets and versions matching the registries, the workflow no-ops in a couple seconds. Removing the guard lets release.yml load. --- .github/workflows/release.yml | 8 +++++--- 1 file changed, 5 insertions(+), 3 deletions(-) diff --git a/.github/workflows/release.yml b/.github/workflows/release.yml index 8c701f0..083d54e 100644 --- a/.github/workflows/release.yml +++ b/.github/workflows/release.yml @@ -31,9 +31,11 @@ jobs: release: name: Release runs-on: ubuntu-latest - # Avoid running on the merge commit that the changesets action itself - # creates (it would be a noisy no-op). - if: github.event.head_commit.message != 'chore(release): bump versions' + # Note: we deliberately do not gate on commit-message content.
