Test results + ideas

I made little tests on the hardware that I have in-house : 2 raspberry pi 5 and 2 respeaker 2mic hats (one in version 1.0 and one in version 2.0).
The results :

• at least both are working fine for my necessities if I don't activate audio echo cancellation (I don't need it, so I didn't try to find a solution)
• Your installer script installs only driver for Respeaker 2mic V 1.0, if someone has a V 2.0 it is necessary a manual installation and this fact isn't reported on the tutorial)
• on both V1.0 and V2.0 Respeaker hats the leds don't work (for me it's the same, I don't want to spend time on them).

Ideas :
I'm waiting a stable solution based on XFV 3800, I'm sorry but I cannot help on software because I'm not able. If You want and if You think it can be useful, I can start to work on possible enclosures of the hardware (I'm thinking not only classical 3D printed enclosures but more on something like these or these )

@Bergoglio looks like I only have 1.0 and 1.2 versions of the 2mic and none of the 4mic. Feel free to post the url for the 2.0 driver that has been working for you and I will add that to the install documentation.

I am days away from merging the xvf3800 branch back into main. I just pushed some code clean up yesterday and testing is going very well.

I am also working on a printable case for the lva with the xvf3800. Just working through some Slicer errors as I still build everything with primitive shapes and negatives in Orca. I like your idea of reusing items so that it matches the decor better. If you've seen my first post, you see where my influences come from.

I have some v2.0 devices on order and should get them next month. I will update the documentation to reflect the versions and do some testing as well.

@Bergoglio, I have updated the documentation to include the respeaker 2mic v2 install instructions. Let me know if you see any issues. There were no code changes in the LVA for this device.

The audio output of the v2 is significantly less than the v1 in my testing. I included increasing the volume to 200%, but even that is pretty low. Are you seeing the same on your installs?

1. Ok, if I try to enable the leds the satellite stops working and this is the result of

But I don't need leds, so for me it is not a problem.

2. I can confirm that audio output of the v2 is significantly less

At least my personal point of view : I switch my thoughts to XFV 3800 because is more powerful, it uses usb so there are less driver problems with kernel updates and I hope less problems with hardware (audio levels, leds, etc.)

Thanks for taking the time to test the instructions. I have made one change to the order of commands, but I don't think that really fixed anything. I have tested the v2 with these instructions on a Pi3b and a Pi4b (I don't have a Pi5) and it has worked both times. I am going to try it with an Orange Pi Zero 2W 1GB next.

I know that the LEDs aren't a priority for you, but would you mind sharing the version of the config.json file when enabling the LEDs (with sensitive information removed)?
