Midterm Project Size

The requirements in the midterm project instructions state that the "main body of the report is limited to 8 pages", though reference list and supplementary material don't count toward it. Having looked over quite a few previous midterm projects, their lengths are significantly longer than 8 pages, often upwards of 40 pages. Do our graphs and tables count towards this page limit?

Some clarification on expected size of midterm project report, in comparison to previous years, would be appreciated.

Thanks for raising this. Yes, graphs and tables do count toward the page limit. The idea of the page restriction is to put more focus on a condensed human-readable structure for the main argument of the report. You can still have unlimited supplementary material. Font sizes in figures should remain readable, but often times the plot itself can be made smaller without loss of clarity; actually adding clarity because information spread over many pages is harder for humans to process.
