Iqtree not producing splits.nex file

Using Iqtree v2.2.2.6 I run this command:

iqtree2
-S 250930_MarkerFinder_trim/
-p 250930.best_scheme.nex
-safe -nt AUTO -ntmax 8 -bnni
-B 2000 -alrt 1000
-cptime 600
-pre 250930_supermatrix

The process apparently runs almost all the way through producing most intermediate files
and the ufboot process:

250930_supermatrix.log
250930_supermatrix.ufboot
250930_supermatrix.best_model.nex
250930_supermatrix.ckp.gz
250930_supermatrix.treefile
250930_supermatrix.nex
250930_supermatrix.mldist
250930_supermatrix.bionj

but it apparently doesnt produce the splits file and gives this error and the end of the
ufboot process:

It therefore does not produce the .contree file, which is the only file left to finish the process
