The official source
-------------------

Releases are published only from that repository. If you obtained WardenOne from
anywhere else, or were directed to download it from another site, the build you
have was not produced here and its contents are unknown to this project. For a
security and privacy extension that distinction matters: verify before you
install it.

WardenOne asks for broad permissions in order to do its job, and every one of
them is documented in permissions.html. A build from an unverified source has
those same permissions and none of the accountability.


Redistribution
--------------

GPLv3 permits redistribution, including commercially. It also requires that you:

  * keep all copyright, licence and attribution notices intact (section 4);
  * state prominently that you changed the work, and give the date, if you
    distribute a modified version (section 5(a));
  * pass on the same licence, with the source, to whoever receives it (section 5).

Rights under this licence terminate automatically if you violate it (section 8).

Nothing in the licence grants rights to the name "WardenOne", or to present a
modified copy as the official project or its official download location.


Upstream work
-------------

WardenOne builds on filter lists and filtering techniques from the wider
ad-blocking and privacy community. Sources are identified in CREDITS.md, and
their copyright and attribution rights are retained. Some upstream licence
decisions for a proposed Store package remain open; see
docs/store-rights-research.md.
