SWARM test fails when OpenFMS is compiled with intel compilers

Hi,

When I pulled the OpenFMS code from the repo and tried compiling it for the first time, I received a warning saying that the SWARM test failed. Would you mind taking a look and letting me know whether this is expected, or if it suggests something is incomplete/misconfigured on my end? I'm using ifx 2023.1.0 as my compiler.

Thanks for catching this, I forgot that this test doesn't work for intel compilers, since it relies on a compiler-specific implementation of the pseudorandom number generator. For now I'm gonna just disable the test, please see #17.

Also, I am curious, were you able to run unit tests with ifx 2023? i.e. running make unittest
It seems like unit tests segfault for older versions of ifx.

I would recommend either upgrading to a newer ifx version, or using ifort, or switch to gfortran so you can run unit tests as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. Just updated to ifx 2025.2. The unit tests now run well and it passed all the unit tests. The SWARM test still fails tho.

Yes, that's expected. If you pull the latest main it already has this test disabled by default.
