You can then use https://ai-sdk.dev/cookbook/node/mcp-tools to get the available tools

Worth doing the V5 upgrade before this? My memory I think the MCP functionality is out of experimental mode in V5.

Scope:

• Adds a configurable MCP Server toolkit with hosted server URL, Streamable HTTP/SSE transport selection, and optional JSON headers.
• Adds List MCP tools and Call MCP tool actions so arbitrary hosted MCP servers can be discovered and invoked from Toolkit.
• Registers the toolkit in the shared client/server toolkit maps.

Verification:

• pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
• pnpm exec prettier --check "src/toolkits/toolkits/mcp/**/*.{ts,tsx}" "src/toolkits/toolkits/{client,server,shared}.ts"
• pnpm exec tsc --noEmit
• NEXTAUTH_URL=http://localhost:3000 AUTH_SECRET=dev-secret-dev-secret-dev-secret DATABASE_URL=file:./dev.db pnpm run build-pure
