How to disable or change the closing animation?

When closing the boxy popup, it seems to have a standard animation.
Can this be disable or changed to something different?

old request but hey, may be useful to someone, you can set "hideShrink" to false and "hideFade" to true for a simple fadeOut. Otherwise you will have to mess around line 511 if you want something else than vertical or horizontal animation.
