Add a filter, or filters, to disable features on front

I would like to conditionally disable the "alt" button placed on images, like depending on page using is_category() and similar.

I have a category page with an image. With the option to add an "alt" button om top of the image, this image gets distorted. And I may want to disable contrast/resizing toolbar on other pages. Or removal of title attributes a few places.

There isn't technically a filter explicitly for doing that, but there are already a couple of ways you can do it:

1. Use the wpa_show_alt_selector filter to return a non-matching string on pages where you don't want to use the button.
2. Use the core variable filter option_wpa_show_alt to return false for the option value on those pages.

There was a filter, but I overlooked it, looked in the wrong file.
The option filter also worked.

Still investigating: The troublesome <img> is inside a <figure> element, and also contains a <figcaption>.

Can you give me a link to the problem image? I assume it's a CSS thing; but it may not be something I can easily resolve. It's hard to write CSS to target all possible scenarios within a theme.
