Right, I was quite "unverbose" with that move. I started the piler project on bitbucket, and after quite some years I've decided to move to github. Along with the bitbucket -> github migration I simplified things around the project, including sunsetting the mailing list. Even though the mailing list worked just fine, there was small traffic on the list, and I thought that the github discussions/issues might be good enough. So basically, that's it, nothing fancy. |

It was just a matter of centralizing things around GitHub.
I get it. I assume, and hope, that you have had more project interest since
you moved to GH too.
People really like their web interfaces these days 😼

My question might seem cheeky, it's really not. I am curious.
Is it a case of the community not really believing in the efficacy of email for meaningful discussions?
If not, what were the reasons?
In the retirement announcement Janos didn't provide reasoning other than "more efficient to use issues", I might be missing the email where reasons were discussed.
I ask because I'm actually planning on making the opposite move and am looking for challenges.
