[BUG] Images look wrong on HDR-Enabled monitors.

Describe the bug
Whenever I open up an image on a monitor that has HDR Enabled, the image look bland/washed out.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Open Image
Observe.

Expected behavior
Colors to look correct/not washed out.

Environment Information (CRITICAL)

• QuickView Version: V5
• OS Version: Win11 25H2
• CPU: 9800X3D
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090
• RAM: 32GB
• Display: 1440P.

Image Information

• Format: JPG and PNG
• Resolution: 1440p or 5K images
• File Size: <10MB.

Additional context

1. Things looked fine In OpenView 4
2. Switching color-space fixed this somewhat but all options dont look exactly the same as the windows photos app or OpenView4.
3. ColorSpace Starts on unmanaged but even when using auto it does nothing (Only sRGB and P3 look closest to the correct image)
4. If I drag the same image to an HDR disabled monitor double-click to Fullscreen it would look fine again even if I drag it back to the HDR monitor. Unrelated but it only works with mouse double-click, not pressing F, idk why)

Hi, thanks for reporting this. Could you please do the following to help me investigate:

Open the HDR image you used for testing in QuickView 5.

Press the shortcut key 'i' to open the info panel.

Expand the 'HDR Pro' section, take a screenshot of the panel, and send it to me.

Additionally, if it's convenient, could you please share the original HDR test image?

Also, a quick question regarding your environment: do you have any Windows HDR Calibration profiles active? I'd like to check if there is a conflict between the system calibration and the viewer's rendering.

the image itself isn't HDR thus there is no HDR Pro setting to send you.

Hi, here's a fix. Please check if this resolves the problem.

These two avif images are designed to help diagnose if your display or app is displaying HDR values properly. It can be useful to see where things are being clipped or tone mapped on different displays.

PQ_10_to_1000nits.avif

This image ramps from 10 nits up to 1000nit in 10nit steps. The image is encoded in Rec.2100 (Rec2020, ST.2084/PQ)

PQ_100_to_10000nits.avif

This second image ramps from 100nits all the way up to the PQ limit of 10000nits.

HDR-3.avif

This AVIF is HDR - for testing on your HDR system. If your Browser isn't HDR supported (Firefox) your see a dark looking image, try using Opera, Chrome or Edge. If your testing your image viewer, download the AVIF image first and then open the image in your viewer to test. For comparison - Bandview Professional v7.26 (image viewer) supports HDR.

I can see upto 860 nits but I have my calibration set to 800 nits so maybe thats a reason too.

Another issue probably related to this.
But the UI itself is f'ed up, I only realised this when I opened the app in a non-hdr monitor.

Just some additional feedback: Also works great on my HDR display. Before, it was pretty washed out.
