Ribbon and RibbonSave do not work

Hi! Great plugin :D I am having trouble using Ribbon and RibbonSave. I do not have a repo that gets frequent commits so I do the following:
git reset --hard
vim
:RibbonSave
:q
git log (see _ribbon tag)
vim
:Git pull

pulls the stuff

:Ribbon#small image flicker and nothing new
The _ribbon tag is in the same place. Now if I deletethe _ribbon tag and try to checkout to another commit and I go trough the same flow as before, the _ribbon tag is set on the same commit as before, not on the new one.

How can I troubleshoot this? Thank you!
