lib/libyara.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Hellos,
I am i have installed yara but i get this error when i try start it. I have tried to locate it using the locate command hoping i could find it and make a soft link to it to resolve the issue but that has been in vein.

self._handle = _dlopen(self._name, mode)
OSError: /home/user/dir/lib/libyara.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I am running yara on ubuntu 18 stable.
