On the latest Kodi Piers build (Alpha 2), EPG data does not populate correctly when IPTV Simple Client downloads the XMLTV via URL.
The XMLTV file downloads via remote path, but epg.db remains very small and most channels show “No information available.”
If the exact same XMLTV file is downloaded externally and configured via a local file path, the EPG imports correctly and epg.db populates as expected.
This suggests a regression in IPTV Simple’s XMLTV download/caching path rather than an issue with the XMLTV data itself.
