Timeshift: stream reduce to SD quality when activate

Hello,

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I m able to find the config.

I have a HD stream here :
https://viamotionhsi.netplus.ch/live/eds/rts1hd/browser-HLS8/rts1hd.m3u8

If have add it to a channel list, and It load perfectly in HD with iptvsimple.

But when I had timeshifting the quality directly switch to SD, and I cannot change it in video settings.

Does I missed something ?

I have configure the storage of timeshifting in /dev/shm by creating a symlink, to write segment in memory, I have 4Gb in it.

What is the resolution when timeshift is enabled?

Reoslution is 768x432.
Im on librelec on a rpi4 if it help

Ok, so it’s choosing the highest resolution for playback and the lowest for timeshift, which also happens to the first entry in the M3U.

There is logic to choose the highest resolution in a M3U. It’s possible that logic is skipped for timeshift. I’ll take a look.

But timeshift is not supported by the channel.

I have my dev environment up and running now so I’ll try it out with your stream in the next few days. I can’t imagine the fix is too complicated.

Hmmm, so I tested the stream this morning and it's selecting the highest bitrate stream for me. I used a fresh instance of iptvsimple to make sure there were not any obscure settings.

I wonder do you have a bitrate set in ffmpegdirect settings. To select the highest available the bitrate control in ffmpegdirect should be off.

Thansk a lot for you support.I have made the test again. Now i have correctvresolution with hls but it seems to be handle by inputstream adaptative as i dont see fragment in the ffmeg direct directory. I will investigate more and keep you posted

I have test it again, and same issue with HLS. I have tried DASH but it use inputstream adaptative
Does it can be a Kodi/Libeelec issue ? I will try to upgrade to the latest minor version just to see.
Does it make sense, to have an extra parameter like minimum bitrate like we have in inputstream.adaptative ?
