Discoverable adding / editing entries in calendar

As a user I want to straight-forward see the possibility to add / edit entries in the calendar so it straight-forward clear for me how to use the calendar to edit already existing entries or add new entries (today or in the past).

Current state:
User taps on a date to add / edit an entry. Existing entries are build as dates dots.
