Description
While there are doc headers for each program, it would be desirable to record this in a doc directory to avoid having to either open the .py files or use the -h option from the command line.
The general purpose routine I have created to do this (for other projects) does not currently work, because of some problem with one of the imported routines, so it needs updating before one can handle this issue.
