We are trying to normalize our microbiome abundance data using your normalization technique. Code is very helpful however we are failing with comparing the normalization results (fractional data, close to 1) to our original data (absolute data, up to 10e6). How can we do that?
Besides, the number of phyla in our data set is much smaller than the number of components in your simulated example. Does the method work properly on such small systems (27 phyla/components)?
