Status: enabled (best-effort).
Current behavior:
- Selecting an item (click,
Return, orCtrl+1...9) copies it to the clipboard, closes the overlay, reactivates the previously focused app, and synthesizesCmd+Vinto it after a short delay. - When Accessibility is not granted it falls back to copy-only; the user pastes manually with
Cmd+V.
Known fragility (revisit if reports come in):
- Synthetic
Cmd+Vdepends on the target app regaining focus before the keystroke posts; the current 0.12s delay is a heuristic. - Secure-input fields and some Electron apps may swallow the synthetic paste.
Future implementation notes:
- Rework overlay to avoid stealing focus where possible.
- Track the focused accessibility element before opening the overlay.
- Use Accessibility APIs for focused text insertion when safe, with fallback to synthetic paste.
- Add a manual QA matrix across TextEdit, browser fields, VS Code, Telegram/Slack, and secure-input fields.
