[Enhancement] Allow a dots '.' in repo names

Hi,

It would be useful to allow repository names that match official upstream naming conventions, for example:

• almalinux-9.7-x86_64-AppStream
• almalinux-9.7-x86_64-BaseOS
• almalinux-9.7-x86_64-CRB
• almalinux-9.7-x86_64-extras

At the moment, this is not possible because the . character is not allowed in repository names.

Please consider allowing dots (.) in repository names/directories to support compatibility with official repository naming schemes.
