Add wiki-link to add Markdown file with <leader>wa

If I do <leader>wa to manually add a Markdown file in a wiki directory and then hit wa to add that file, I get a Markdown link [name](filename), not [[name]] which are the wiki links.

Any way to have these links be inserted as wiki links?

Yes! The default link type is configurable with g:wiki_link_creation - see the docs for the full description. The following should make <leader>wa add wiki links by default:

let g:wiki_link_creation = {
      \ 'md': {
      \   'link_type': 'wiki',
      \ },

or in Lua:

vim.g.wiki_link_creation = {
  md = {
    link_type = "wiki",
