error during builds

Hello,

I'm trying to build the project but I get some errors I can't solve :(

'PF_CAN" undeclared
'SOCK_RAW undeclared
'AF_CAN' undeclared

storage size of 'ifr' isn't known

I think the mnd lib is detected though.

These declarations come from the various include files: sys/ioctl.h, net/if.h & linux/can.h

Check that you have these files in /usr/include/

The only other thing I can suggest is to try using the "-I" option in the compile command to explicitly point to the /usr/include directory.

It doesn't change anything.
It's weird because when I open the files you mentioned, the declarations are not there.

Try running: "cc -c n2kvcd.c" and copy the terminal output to this issue.

I can force these errors & warnings if I omit unistd.h, termios.h & net/if.h, although I get more than just those errors & warnings.
Which linux distribution are you using?

I'm using the raspberry's distribution but on a little industrial PC.

Please explain - raspberry is ARM, but "PC" implies X86.

OK, I understand - it is an x86 version of Raspbian. As far as I remember, the package "build-essential” should be all you need to compile my software.

I downloaded the latest Raspbian Stretch for PC image & ran it on a PC. It comes with the “build-essential” package installed. I loaded n2kvcd & libmnd and it compiled without error.

Try following these steps: 1. Download latest Raspbian Stretch for PC image and burn ISO to DVD or Flash that you can boot from. 2. Select “Run” at boot time 3. After booting, configure internet connection. 4. Open terminal 5. git clone https://github.com/malcolmh/n2kvcd.git 6. git clone https://github.com/victronenergy/libmnd.git 7. sudo cp -r libmnd/inc/mnd /usr/local/include/ 8. cc -c n2kvcd/src/n2kvcd.c That should run without errors & create n2kvcd.o in /home/pi/

Ok thank you, actually it's worked only with -std=gnu99 ...
Now i have bash exec format error that I will try to solve today
