I've gone through the codebase and noticed #17 adds GCC compatibility, been open for 10 months almost with known issues.

I'd like to pick it up, would the core team be open to this?

Adding PR #57 as a reference.

The Linux build effort has progressed significantly since this issue was opened.

PR #57 builds on the initial GCC/Linux bring-up by extending support beyond compilation into a working ARM64 boot flow on Linux. The work includes:

• Linux-native build scripts and an automated build_and_run_qemu.sh workflow, with support for faster development iterations using pre-built initrd images.
• Cross-platform compatibility improvements required for GCC builds.
• ARM64 kernel stabilization, including fixes to physical memory management, PE loading, MMIO mapping, and VirtIO initialization.
• CI improvements for both GCC/Linux and MSVC build paths.

The current bring-up has been validated on the GCC/Linux toolchain with QEMU. The MSVC path has been kept in mind during implementation, but additional runtime validation is still ongoing.

Hopefully this moves the project much closer to making Linux a first-class development environment for XenevaOS.
