pandoc build?

Hi,

Is it possible to build AcademicMarkdown files using pandoc through Sublime Text? For example, embedding figures into the text through AcademicMarkdown's sytax, which allows figure IDs and references, renders as a code block if I do a regular build... Am I missing something?
