How to trigger CriticMarkup while editing a markdown file?

If I insert new text, how do I trigger AcademicMarkdown to surround the new text with the **{++** and **++}** tags? Similarly, how do I trigger AcademicMarkdown to surround deleted text with the **{--** and **--}** tags? And how to trigger the tags for text substitution, highlighting and comments?

Running Sublime Text build 3126 on Windows 7.
