CEC Support?

Hey there!

I was wondering if there any plans to add CEC support to allow users to simply use their remote to click “Start playing” after launching the steamlink app via docker.

I already tried editing the “run.sh” to forward the cec device (—device=/dev/cec0) and I also see the keypresses when running “cec-client” within the container, however they do not register at all with the steamlink app in the foreground.

Any idea or guidance?

If the SteamLink binaries supplied by Valve for the Raspberry pi already supports CEC, then it's certainly worth looking into what is causing it not to work within the container.
I vaguely recall seeing something mentioning cec-client in the past, but I haven't looked at the code in a while, so I'm not sure whether that still exists.

I see you've already tried cec-client directly in the container and proven that it works, which probably means that the SteamLink binaries themselves do not utilise the CEC commands

Ultimately, the best way to narrow down whether this is a supported feature would be to run Steamlink directly in a Raspbian environment, to rule out the container.

On a side note, I'd be curious as to whether running cec-client within a container shows the key presses, even without forwarding the /dev/cec0 device. I think the container is running in privileged mode (the whole OS is running as a single 'root' user), and my understanding was that this forwarded all devices directly to the container
